Kissimmee's Entertainment Destination:

Disney's Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom: The Adventure Begins image
I purchased my Disney annual pass in November 2014 during my first visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom. I was extremely excited for the adventures I was going to embark while being a passholder, and my expectations were blown away reflecting on the experience three years later.

Here are three recommendations you should check out during your visit to Animal Kingdom:

Expedition Everest

Prior to having a Disney annual pass, one of my biggest fears was roller coasters. I overcame my fear throughout the year, and Expedition Everest became my favorite roller coaster in Disney World. The adventure begins when your train climbs a steep incline and reaches a broken and twisted track. The train races backwards into a darkened mountain, leading to the Yeti. In order to avoid the Yeti, you'll drop 80 feet down and escape the monster to return to civilization. The set design and suspense of the ride is captured perfectly, and I highly recommend it if you are looking for an adrenaline rush.

Festival of the Lion King

I never watched shows in Disney World when I visited once every few years, but Festival of Lion King is the first and best show I have seen among the four theme parks. The vocal and dance talent among the performers is the essence of Disney magic. My favorite performances were Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight, but classics like Hakuna Matata and I Just Can't Wait to Be King were just as enjoyable. The Lion King is one of my favorite Disney movies, and the Festival of the Lion King did an exceptional job highlighting the story.

Kilimanjaro Safaris

If there is one attraction that brings together the purpose of Animal Kingdom, Kilimanjaro Safaris is the top choice. From elephants to giraffes, this ride is perfect for all ages. Experience live exotic animals while riding in an open-air vehicle for a tour. My favorite animals I encountered were the hippopotamus, rhinoceros, and cheetah.

Avatar - Flight of Passage

Due to long wait times, I have not had the opportunity to ride Avatar - Flight of Passage. In this 3D attraction, you can experience a thrilling ride on the back of a mountain banshee. After reading and watching reviews on Flight of Passage, I would recommend heading to Animal Kingdom early and making this the first attraction of your trip.

After you explore Animal Kingdom, visit pizza near Rolling Oaks Kissimmee. Pizza hits the spot after walking around the park all day. Flexible operation hours means you can get pizza delivery in Kissimmee straight to your hotel, or enjoy a dining experience to reminisce on best vacation ever.
